Soggade Chinni Nayana Movie Review

Soggade Chinni Nayana is being the final film to release today on the eve of Sankranthi starring Nagarjuna (in dual role), Ramya Krishna and Lavanya Tripathi in lead roles. The film is directed by debutante Kalyan Krishna and produced on Annapurna Studios which scored U/A certification by Regional Censor Board Officials recently. Anup Rubes is the music director.

Story starts off in Village called Sivapuram in East Godavari where Bangar Raju (Nagarjuna) being from the Zamindar Family marries Satya (Ramya Krishna). Bangar Raju who flirts with women in the village passes away in an accident.

Satya who wants his son Ramu (Nagarjuna) to grow up decently sends him to US for further studies. Later Ramu comes all the way from US to Sivapuram village with his wife Sita (Lavanya Tripathi). Sita who is vexed up with Ramu's innocence behavior urges for Divorce due to unhappy married life. Knowing all the reasons, Satya also vexed up with Ramu’s innocence and stays helpless by praying God to save Ramu’s married life.

Will Ramu ends up his Marriage Life? Will any natural power saves Ramu's marriage life in the form of Bangar Raju is rest of the story?


Nagarjuna gave his two vital roles as a gift to audience in the form of Bangar Raju and Ramu. These two roles will show case Nagarjuna in clean and refreshing avatars.

Ramya Krishna does a decent job as a responsible mother from a Village and she looks perfect in her role with impressive Village Accent.

Lavanya Tripathi looks gorgeous in the role of Sita and impresses with her matured performance once again.

Hamsa Nandini and Anchor Anasuya sizzle in a special song with few scenes.

Anushka Shetty is seen in surprise Cameo as Krishna Kumari in the film.

Naga Babu as Yama Dharma Raja limited to the role with socio-fantasy touch in few scenes.

The other roles donned by Brahmanandam, Nassar, Posani Krishna Murali, Sampath Raj and Vennela Kishore are at thier best.


The story and screenplay by Debutante Kalyan Krishna is neat and the director has done a decent job in showcasing each and individual roles perfectly. Though the story has no twists and turns, the film has goes on traditional way with Village scenes.

Music by Anup Rubens is decent and BGM is impressive through out the film.

Production Values by Annapurna Studios is rich.

Screenplay is neat and the Editing Department has done a great job.


Soggade Chinni Nayana is released with an expectations in Sankranthi Race and stood strong with its openings all over. The family audience has reached and by the end of the show, Soggade Chinni Nayana scores as an above average film with an entertaining first half and routine second half with mix of commercial elements and emotional content catching audience pulse.

Though there is no great story line, the director has safely played the game as a complete family entertainer to connect audience.
