Hari Krishna for Rajya Sabha?

Dec 8, 2015

The chances of TDP Leader Nandamuri Harikrishna being nominated for Rajya Sabha look bleak, as TDP Chief and CM N Chandrababu Naidu is against his brother-in-law and has other plans.

Hari Krishna, who was earlier nominated to Rajya Sabha in April 2008, has embarrassed Naidu by submitting his resignation for the cause of United Andhra in August 2013, before his tenure was to end. It is to be noted that neither Hari Krishna nor his son NTR are in good terms with Chandrababu for the past two years.

Though Harikrishna met Chandrababu Naidu recently and expressed his wish to become Rajya Sabha member again, the latter seems to have taken a firm decision not to send Hari Krishna to Rajya Sabha this time, and since Nandamuri Bala Krishna is already a TDP MLA from Hindupur, its party’s policy to not give a chance to second member of same family. The election is scheduled for 2016, as by June 21st there will be four vacancies with the tenure of Sujana Chowdary, Nirmala Sitharaman, Jairam Ramesh and JD Seelam coming to an end.
