EC issues notices to KCR, KTR for Poll Violation

The Election Commission issued notices to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and IT minister KT Rama Rao for allegedly violating the model code of conduct ahead of the MLC elections in TS and demanded them for an explanation within 48 hours.

Issuing the notices to KCR and KTR, the Election Commission has asked the leaders to give them their written explanations. They were issued the notices following the complaints that KCR and KTR were indulged in misuse of their official position violating the model code of conduct that came into the existence on November 27, post the biennial election to the Legislative Council.
The EC added that it has received complaints that KTR has presented party shawls to some leaders at the secretariat which is also against the rules and KCR making promises to the Khammam district leaders in the Camp office.

The MLC elections for the Legislative Council from Local Authorities Constituencies in Telangana State for Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Medak, Rangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda and Khammam districts will be held on 27 December
