AP employees not allowed to work in Hyd after June

Dec 2, 2015

The AP government on Tuesday has passed an ultimatum to AP government employees asking them to shift to the new capital Amaravati from Hyderabad by June 1, 2016.

The TDP government stated that no AP employees will be allowed to work in Hyderabad post June 1, 2016. The AP government has decided to work and function from Vijayawada from 2nd June 2016, and thus it has directed all the departments on further advancements. It has engaged all the secretaries and Heads of Departments to see that the staff will give their approval in shifting to Vijayawada before June 1, 2016.

AP CM Chandrababu Naidu has already been running the administration from Vijayawada from May and he wants all the departments to shift to Vijayawada. He added that no AP employees will further be given any exemptions on working in Hyderabad under any circumstances after the coming June.
However, some of the employee unions are protesting on government’s decision of immediate shift to Vijayawada, without providing required infrastructure and facilities to the employees. They are protesting that their children's education will get affected if they have to move out of Hyderabad suddenly. But the TDP government is firm on its decision to run the AP administration from Vijayawada.
