Dec 30, 2015

The AP government on Tuesday has approved the construction of temporary Secretariat in the capital region, which is just after three days of notifying the grandiose final master plan of capital Amaravati. The government has decided to renew the plan of temporary secretariat construction with makeshift structures at the Amaravati Township near Mangalagiri. The tenders have been called for temporary secretariat, according accorded permission to the Commissioner, AP Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA).

The office space is about 6 lakh sqft in 20 acres of land, which is to be built at the Amaravati Township Layout at the cost of Rs 180 crore for housing the secretariat. After shelving the proposal nine months before, the government has now renewed it again, and it has set June 2016 as deadline for completing the makeshift structures to the capital region.

“Tenders should be called for both Conventional and Prefabricated systems by giving time of completion up to June 30, 2016, and at the time of evaluation of tenders, whichever system is cheaper, the contract will be awarded to L1 of that system,” the government order stated.
