Special Status To AP Under Consideration : Naidu

Union Minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu on Friday made comments that the central government is still considering about granting the special status to Andhra Pradesh. There are reports from the government recently that the special status will not be granted to AP. But the union minister as come in to control the protests.

Venkaiah gave this assurance to the members of Students JAC of Andhra Pradesh who staged a protest before his residence in New Delhi on Friday. “The provision of granting Special Status to residuary State for 10 years was clearly mentioned in the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014, and therefore, this promise should be honoured.” the protestors demanded the union minister.

The minister promised to bring pressure on officials inorder to grant the special status to the state.  He said several Central institutions were being set up in Andhra Pradesh and on an average.Much more confirmation is expected on this issue.
