May 8, 2015

Dongata is the movie that released today after a postponement. The film has Manchu Lakshmi and Adivi Sesh in the lead roles. Manchu Lakshmi sung a song in the film too. The film unit has been happy with the openings of the film. Lakshmi is the producer for the film. Check out our review.

Let us keep it very simple.

Dongata is the story of a three goons kidnapping a heroine. The film is tipped to be a comedy film.

The story is based on the life of three goons played by Adivi Sesh, Madhu and Prabhakar. They wanted to make money and after going through a lot of thought process, they comes to a conclusion of kidnapping a popular star actress named Shruthi (Manchu Lakshmi).

They manage to kidnap her successfully and demand 10 crores from her mom. Here arises a twist which has to be watched on the screen.

What is the past of kidnappers?

Why did they choose Sruthi alone?

What is the sudden twist?

The answers for the above questions form the rest of the story.

Lakshmi Manchu considered this project in a prestigious way and she achieved finally of what she wanted to. She gives a decent performance in the film. She looks beautiful in the role of an actress and proved that she is a talented actress and can pull off any role. The actress also happens to be the producer for the film and she handled every department in a good manner. The production values of the film are great.

Coming to the other lead actors, Adavi Sesh is definitely a talent to watch out for. He has the looks and does extremely well in his role. He is the right choice for the role. The other two actors also played their roles decently. There is the required comedy in the film but in some scenes the dose was exceeded than required.

Brahmanandam is very good as Brahmi the man on fire. All his scenes with Pragathi are hilarious. The film starts slow but picks up the pace at right time. Specially the Interval bang is exciting and gives the necessary twist to the film. The second half is good and the flow was disturbed by many unnecessary scenes in the film. The pre-climax and climax was shot very well.

The editing could have been better and it is below par. The Music by Raghu Kunche is pretty good as all the songs have been shot well. Even the BGM is also very good and it carried the flow nicely. The dialogues if Sai Madhav Burra are excellent. Coming to director Vamsi Krishna, he has done a decent job with his execution. Though he is a newcomer, he has directed the film very well. On a whole, the film is successful in hitting the target and poor competition might help the film work in long run.
